Understand the Desk’s role, who can participate and how to engage.

01What is the Elevate Africa Trade Desk?

The Elevate Africa Trade Desk is a Pan-African connectivity initiative under Elevate Africa’s Trade and Investment pillar. It helps connect African businesses, investors, institutions and governments through structured engagement, relevant introductions and opportunities for cross-border collaboration.

02Who can engage with the Trade Desk?

The Trade Desk engages entrepreneurs, SMEs, established businesses, producers, project owners, investors, financial and development institutions, professional partners and other relevant stakeholders. Governments and sovereign institutions engage through dedicated country partnership arrangements, outside paid membership.

03How does the Trade Desk connect businesses, investors and institutions?

The Desk provides a structured pathway for receiving information, assessing readiness, checking documentation where applicable, identifying relevant potential counterparts and arranging eligible introductions. Connections follow the Trade Desk’s established standards and procedures.

04What are the benefits of becoming a member?

Depending on the approved membership category, benefits may include access to information and briefings, selected convenings, community participation, relationship support, directory access, profile visibility and relevant readiness resources. Membership is a service and engagement offering; it does not give preferential verification or matching.

05How can I express interest or enquire about participation?

Visitors may use the approved expression-of-interest form or contact channel displayed on the website once it has been activated. The Trade Desk team will review the enquiry and advise on the appropriate next step. An expression of interest is not a membership approval or a guarantee of introduction.

06Can governments participate in the Trade Desk?

Yes. The Trade Desk can engage governments and public institutions on country priorities, trade and investment opportunities and potential partnerships. Sovereign engagement is handled through separate country partnership pathways rather than paid membership tiers.

07Does the Trade Desk provide funding or guarantee investment?

No. The Trade Desk does not itself promise funding, guarantee investment, secure transactions or guarantee commercial outcomes. Its role is to facilitate relevant connections, introductions, visibility and structured engagement.

08How are opportunities assessed and matched?

Participants seeking formal introductions follow a Readiness Standard with tiers from 0 to 3 and, when applicable, a six-step Connection Protocol: Intake, Verification, Matching, Introduction, Follow-up and Amplify. Progression and matching are based on the relevant requirements, not on membership payment.

09Does the Trade Desk negotiate deals or provide transaction advice?

No. The Desk does not negotiate, structure or execute transactions, or provide transaction-specific advisory services. Where specialist advice is needed, participants may be directed to an appropriate independent adviser pathway under the relevant rules.

10How can stakeholders engage after the Ghana Convening?

Stakeholders can follow the website for announcements, submit an expression of interest through an activated channel and attend relevant briefings or convenings as available. Membership applications and other operational features will become accessible progressively as their processes are approved and ready.
