ABOUT THE TRADE DESK
The right partners.
On honest ground.
Connecting Africa to opportunities, partnerships and global markets.
The Elevate Africa Trade Desk is a connectivity initiative under Elevate Africa’s Trade and Investment pillar. It rests on a simple truth: Africa does not lack opportunity, and the world does not lack capital. What is too often missing are the trusted connections, information and access that bring the two together.
The mission of the Desk is to bridge that gap, connecting those with access to capital to those with credible projects and trade opportunities, while strengthening trade and investment within Africa and between Africa and its global partners.
Two networks.
One shared possibility.
The Desk brings together two complementary networks. The first includes financiers, investors, development institutions and diaspora capital. The second connects African entrepreneurs, SMEs, producers, innovators and institutions, alongside engagement with governments through dedicated country partnership pathways. Between them, the Desk serves as a neutral bridge, convenor and facilitator of strategic connections. It does not negotiate, structure or execute transactions. Its role is to connect, introduce and amplify.
Trust through
a structured process.
Trust is supported through a structured Readiness Standard, comprising four tiers (0–3), from initial readiness to Desk-Ready. Published resources, clinics and guidance help participants understand and prepare for the requirements of trade and investment engagement. A six-step Connection Protocol guides eligible opportunities through Intake, Verification, Matching, Introduction, Follow-up and Amplification, supported by three instruments: the Opportunity Dossier, the Mandate Profile and the Trade Profile.
Participation
with independence.
The Desk’s membership structure offers Community, Business and Institutional participation, providing varying levels of access, relationship support, visibility and engagement. Membership income supports the Desk’s administration and operations, while government and sovereign engagement remains outside the paid membership structure. Membership does not influence verification, readiness assessments, matching or introductions, which remain governed by the Desk’s established standards and procedures.
Its vision is a continent where African opportunity is visible, credible and investable, and where the right partners meet on honest ground.
Membership onboarding, readiness resources and operational tools will become available progressively, subject to approval and readiness.
